Hauraki Road, Tūrua – Project Update
Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback on the recent road rehabilitation project. Your input is invaluable, and we’re committed to ensuring the final outcome is something the residents of Tūrua can be proud of.
While the project has faced some challenges – particularly with weather and timing – we’re taking proactive steps with our contractor to refine and improve the work already completed.
Here’s what’s happening next:
· Berm areas: Some sections will be repaired where stones are exposed and grass hasn’t established. The contractor is booked in to carry out these improvements as soon as weather and site conditions allow.
· Northern tie-in section: The joint at the northern end will be removed and redone to deliver a smoother, improved connection between the two sections.
What’s still to come:
Following the immediate improvements, the road will receive a second coat seal in early 2026. This is a planned stage of the project that will further enhance the surface finish, durability, and overall look of the road.
We appreciate your patience and support as we complete these final stages. With these improvements, the aim is to achieve a standard that will serve the community well into the future.
