Coming soon...

We’re pleased to share that an upgrade is planned for Kaihere Road to improve its condition, resilience and reliability.

Improvements will include earthworks, drainage improvements, pavement reconstruction and stabilisation, and concrete works to help improve the condition and durability of the road.

The project tender has closed and is currently under review.

Works area

Works are expected to begin just past Hauraki Plains College and extend south, with the full works area and construction programme still to be confirmed. We’ll work closely with the College and provide further updates once the construction programme is finalised.

This early notice is to keep students, staff, families and the wider community informed.

Why we're doing this work

Parts of Kaihere Road now require more than routine maintenance. Upgrading the road will improve its condition, extend its lifespan and help reduce the need for more significant repairs in the future.

The project is part of Council’s ongoing investment in maintaining and renewing the local road network and supporting more resilient local roads.

What happens next?

Once the tender process is complete and the construction programme is confirmed, we’ll provide more information about:

  • When work is expected to begin
  • The construction programme
  • Traffic management arrangements
  • How access will be maintained
  • What to expect while the work is underway.

Keep updated

We understand roadworks can affect daily routines and appreciate the community’s patience and support.

We’ll work to minimise disruption where we can and keep the community informed with regular updates as more details become available.

If you have any further concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
