Why will wastewater charges move to the water bill?
In preparation for water services revenue being ring fenced away from property rates, we are separating out the wastewater portion of your rates bill and moving it to your water bill.
Communities like Whiritoa who don’t receive a water bill because they’re on tank water, but have Council wastewater services, will start to receive a separate bill just for the wastewater rate, once the change takes place.
If you're not charged for wastewater on your property rates, you won't be affected.
We’re also using the opportunity to look at our water billing schedule to try and avoid some communities receiving their land, water and Waikato Regional Council bills all in the same month (usually October).
