The local community brings a vision to life...

In July 2025, we held a series of community hui to shape the final playground design.

The first was at the Kerepēhi Community Hall, where locals came together to kōrero and explore the concept plans displayed through large photos and draft designs.

Design options on show at the Kerepēhi HallBecause tamariki are at the heart of this project, a special hui was also held with them at Kerepēhi School in late July 2025.

Their ideas and enthusiasm brought the vision to life, and one design stood out above the others.

The inclusion of a half basketball court and a new toilet block was also very well received. Thanks to their input, the playground design was finalised.The preferred option and some of the other fun stuff included in the final design
