Consultation has concluded
The weather is getting warmer, and daylight savings is here which means our annual road resurfacing programme is getting underway.
This year’s programme has over 33,500 metres of reseal planned throughout the district.
We understand this work can be disruptive, but it's essential to keep all road users moving smoothly and safely.
Look out for temporary traffic controls. Keep to the temporary speed limits and follow the instructions of the road crews to keep everyone safe and help the new seal set correctly.
Prior to sealing in urban areas, or when a full road closure is planned, our contractor will post a notice to all those affected.
As work is heavily reliant on the weather, check out this page for regular updates. You can also keep up to date by signing up to our Antenno app.

Unfortunately, due to some wet weather our programme of work wasn’t entirely competed before Christmas as planned. Our night works for asphalt in Darlington Street, Ngātea and Seddon Street in Waihi experienced some delays but were completed just in time for Christmas.
Some roads in Ngātea, Paeroa and Waihi were completed in the week starting 6th January. The sweeping and road marking of these streets is still underway.
There will be ongoing monitoring of chipseal sites this month to identify any further sweeping requirements to remove excessive loose chip.
You may notice some paint marks on road around the network, we have been busy scheduling our next year's reseals programme and identifying any repairs needed before then.

Work has been focused on the Plains rural area over the last 3 weeks.
So far, we've completed 40% of our square metre area planned, or to look at it another way, 15% of the road sections scheduled.
There are still several roads to be affected over the next few months - keep an eye on Antenno for updates!
We also have some night works planned for Darlington Street, Ngātea and Seddon Street, Waihi - depending on weather this work will proceed in early December 2024.
